Incredible Quality Carhartt Dog Coat

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have experimented with multiple fall/ winter jackets for my beagles over the years with varied success. It seems that the quality of the jackets have been less than ideal or that the material was not sufficient for the weather.

 

I found this Carhartt duck jacket a couple of years ago and can honestly say that the quality, feel, and look is second to none.

 

The jacket is made with firm-hand duck canvas, which protects your pup in cold, windy weather. The quilted liner is a durable nylon with polyester batting for added warmth. The coat is a great option for extended outdoor temperatures ranging from approximately -10 to -15 degrees Celsius. I actually made a liner that snaps into the jacket, out of an old emergency car blanket, for times when temperatures drop to -45 degrees. The featured picture above was taken during outdoor temperatures of -25 degrees C, when Oliver and I were walking in the woods after a snowstorm. The jacket is great for deflecting branches and for times of roughhousing and playfighting with other dogs.
